THERAPY AS UNIQUE AS YOU ARE

MY PRACTICE

Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual. Interpersonal struggles, career obstacles or mental health issues can make us feel confused about who we are, where we fit in and how to move forward. I specialize in helping individual adults and couples navigate difficult feelings, identify and change negative or unhelpful thoughts and behavior patterns, and overcome challenging situations in order to enjoy a more peaceful mind and a happier life.

My approach is open, casual, and collaborative, and I strive to maintain a space that is truly free of judgment, and where all clients feel fully accepted, seen and supported.  I am LGBTQIA+-friendly, sex- and kink-positive, trauma-informed, and culturally-sensitive. I have experience working with neurodiverse clients, as well as individuals and couples engaging in or exploring alternative lifestyles and relationships.

I don’t subscribe to one specific therapeutic modality, but instead leverage tools and techniques from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Postmodern approaches, and Mindfulness, depending on my clients’ unique needs and presenting issues. I hold a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and have been trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

As an East Coast transplant (Jersey, baby!), I am warm yet direct, and I strive to bring humility, empathy, compassion, and especially humor to all of my client interactions. Together, we will work to build on your strengths, ease your presenting symptoms, unpack your baggage and transform the limiting beliefs about yourself and the world that are no longer serving you. I am happy to offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

COUPLES COUNSELING

In couples therapy, I can work to help you increase positive and effective communication, relate better to each other, and change negative patterns that cause distress. I strive to make each partner feel heard and to help couples establish new habits that increase cohesiveness.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

In individual counseling sessions, we’ll work to ease emotional distress, identify and change self-defeating patterns of thinking and behavior, and bolster self-esteem. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles.
